The Creative Writing department at the University of Westminster, in partnership with Live Canon http://www.livecanon.co.uk/, is delighted to announce the new:
Westminster University Short Play Prize, 2017
The competition is open to all current and former University of Westminster creative writing students. Deadline for submission, 6pm 23 January 2017.
The winning entry will receive:
- £500 in prize money
- a dedicated mentoring session with a professional dramaturg
- a reading of their work, performed by professional actors and live-streamed for a wider audience

Conditions of entry: Plays should not have a running time of longer than 1 hour. There are no restrictions in terms of content. Your play must not have received a previous production. Shortlisted writers will receive notification by 17 February, 2017, and the winner will be announced on 3 March. Individual feedback will only be given on shortlisted submissions. The reading of the winning entry is provisionally scheduled for the end of March, 2017.
